Ever since I got my big top cupcake maker, I find myself baking much more often. I guess it’s because now I’m more confident that my cake won’t flop on me. It’s a great advantage, because it saves a lot more money than buying bakery cakes, and the family appreciates a much more. No one can deny the fact that homemade beats store bought. If I want to go simpler or just don’t have the time to start from scratch I’ll just use different flavors of Duncan Hiens cake mix like chocolate for the center vanilla for the top and bottom. But when I’m baking for an occasion or just have free time on my hands I’ll follow a recipe and make a cake from scratch. I come up with these amazing ideas that taste heavenly and everyone loves. Like using brownies for the bottom of the cupcake, cookies and cream ice cream for the filling and chocolate cake covered with mouse on the top. So far, I think that one was the most favored. But the idea book also gives me interesting ideas that I wouldn’t have thought of on my own.
Also the great thing about the big top cupcake is that no matter what my cake is made out of, it won’t stick to the silicone pan, it glides out smoothly keeping my cupcake in one piece. This tends to be a problem with regular sized cupcakes. When I make regular cupcakes I always have to make extra because I know that there are going to be a few that don’t stay whole, stick to the pan and just crumble when I’m trying to take them out.
I think I have made it quite obvious that I’m very fond of the big top cupcake. I just think it is one of the most efficient inventions created! Its delectable, it always comes out tasting great (as long as you have a good recipe), and the kids adore it. It’s also an easy way to get creative without having to spend a lot.
What I love is that the Big Top cupcake is not necessarily a childish thing. When I have guests over for dinner, I make the Big Top cup cake as dessert, everyone adores it! I serve it just as I would serve any other cake, except this one tastes good and looks exceptionally good too. I also love that I can use virtually any pastry recipe and put it in the Big Top cup cake. I can even make cupcake shaped bread! For some reason my bread tastes better when I bake it in the Big Top, maybe because it looks like a cupcake. To be honest, I just think it’s just a great tool to have in the home.
